These are a few suggestions if you want a fast car but don't have a lot of money.
Clutch
Convert your clutch to a manual adjusting one with a stronger clutch quadrant. The stock auto-adjusting quadrant will not be able to handle a good performance clutch and it is nice to be able to tune your cluch to your needs.
Exhaust
Get 2 1/2" pipes to the mufflers and use your stock pipes after the mufflers. The mufflers are the most restricting thing so you will lose very little power with smaller pipes after them.
Buy the rear pipes without the stainless ends and weld on your old stainless tips on them to save money.
Intake
Get a K&N filter that fits into the stock air filter box. Don't waste your money on cold air intake kits or ram air kits they are not worth the money.
Tires
DON'T go lower profile than 50 series on the rear. Sure lower profile will handle better but they are harder and have less give to them so you will lose a lot of time to tire slippage.
When drag racing, lower your tire pressure to 15-20 pounds. This will help increase grip at launch but will actually hurt traction at higher speeds.
Misc
Get rid of the insulation on the inside of the hood. Cooler engine = more HP.
Make sure you have a new strong mixture of coolant or use an additive like Redline's Water Wetter.
Use a fully synthetic fluid in your supercharger. It will keep it cooler, it will rev faster and it won't eat the oil seals (if yours has any).
